Homestead Detention Cells

In 2007, Sperlich Consulting, Inc., designed a series of detention cells along Homestead Street in Rapid City. The original Drainage Basin Design Plan (County Heights DBDP) called for a single cell. At the onset of our design, it became apparent that the location of Homestead Street, per the major street plan, would not permit the construction of a single cell. As a solution to the problem, we proposed the construction of smaller parallel detention cells to accomplish the same level of peak storm water discharge. Sperlich Consulting was responsible for the design, competitive bid, contract negotiations, and letting of this project on behalf of the owner.
